What are e-zines?

Well we-zines are a type of newsletter really which are delivered to the subscribers of a particular niche of the field. These newsletters get delivered through mail mostly through the internet and the subscribers then pick them up and visit the advertisement site accordingly. Most e-zines that are sent are basically website information while nowadays they are also emails.

But there is one general problem with e-zines which is also a problem with many other advertising on the internet. This problem is of email delivery and reading. Gone are the good old days when whichever email used to get delivered people used to read them and take them seriously. Now with the boom of internet marketing and people receiving thousands of emails by the second, all of this has simply been washed away.

Now, ezines actually can cover a large number of topics. Search for any niche you like and you are sure to find it in ezine. There is not one niche that is not available on the ezine. However you will find both advertisements and articles in the ezine which are published as frequently as twice a month or once a week.

So how does ezines work? Well you see every ezine has its own group of members depending on the niche you are targeting for your sales. Now if you are trying to get ezine advertisement on a niche which has more than ten thousands of members then surely you will be charged more than if you put your ad in a niche where there only a few thousand members. Basically when you put your ad on these ezines of e niche of your choice what ezine does is send these members emails that deal with your site or whatever you have advertised about.

So, it is basically a good way of advertising but that could have been said when the word spam had not entered the dictionary. But now with all the spamming going on all around us, I personally do no think that ezine advertisements are a good place to start with.

Spam is the root cause of all the trouble and with the success of email services suddenly the internet had been hot with spammers left right and centre. Emails started being sent in the millions and all the inboxes which till then had only about a few emails started getting filled up with millions of emails. People were getting so many junk mails that they lost their cool, got angry and stared shouting spam. So to keep them happy, the mail boxes had to be redefined with the new setting of detecting spam and trashing them away. With the anti spam laws it became all the more strict and everything good about ezine changed.

All ISP servers set up spam filters and started deciding for the people which emails they would receive and which they would not. So you can now place an ad on classifieds but there is no guarantee that it will not land up in the spam box of the receiver. Surely some would get delivered and a few people would actually read it and be interested but with the majority of mail not getting delivered, the sales rate will be quite low. So it might turn out that where you are paying for a thousand mails on the behalf of classifieds, only a hundred get delivered. So it is really going bad nowadays.

However, ezines continue to exist and no matter what anyone else tells you, you know how many sales you probably would make from them.
