The Types:

The three types of buckles available are the snap, tang buckles and clip buckles. Snap buckles are made using two components. The hollow open sides and the other is spring driven clasps on each side. The clasps are pulled, squeezed and moved into the place inside the hollow piece. These belts are made from plastic.

Tang buckles consist of hinged flaps called tangs and a metal ring. Because of these hinged flaps, the belt is called tang buckles. The belt is made fit through the ring while the tang secures it in its position by making it go through a hole on the buckle. These are usually made from leather. The tang buckle belts are considered to be the most secured.

As for the clip belts, these are made using very thin plates of a certain metal fitted over a belt end. Secured by magnetic clips or springs and the belt pushed through a back rail. These are considered to be stylish.

No matter which belt you get, it should be of your size. For adjustments you can look for a belt buckle but not the snap buckle because they can not be adjusted so exclude them from the list. A clip buckle would do the job for you as you can clip it wherever you want. This way you will be comfortable wearing the belt.
