In general people especially women believe that make up looks attractive and good only on fair people. Ironically, the truth is that make up is as blandishing on dark skin as it is on the fair counter parts. Since, dark skin tends to be oily, one should use water based cosmetics. Using oil based one’s would worsen the condition. The dark skins require extra care to subdue the effects of few features, unify skin tone etc. Water based products are the best for dark skinned people.

Some tips for make up for dark skinned:

1. Dark skin is less prone to pimples so provide even tone for foundation blending

2. Liquid foundations are best and not oily or cream ones.

3. .Using distilled water for blending is a better option in order to avoid streaks of applied foundation after sometime.

4. Dark skinned people should go for less make up and try to enhance their natural color. It is better to enhance the
natural shade rather than to try different colors.

5. It is better if you do not apply eye liner. Even if you want to do not apply it on the lower lid.

6. Mascara is also a good option but do not apply it if you have long lashes.

Few more make up tips for the dark skinned.

1. You can use tan, sun bronze and peech colors for foundation and powder.

2. Do not apply a lot of powder. See that the makeup is perfect so that there are no prevalent lines.

3. For the eyes you can use forest freen, medium purple, deep blue, medium blue, slate blue or gunmetal shades. Apply it throughout your eyes and of course choose one shade at a time.

4. In case of eye liners dark thick one’s will make you look bad and it will ruin the entire make up.

5. You can apply a single coat of brown, black mascara it will be pretty good.

6. For the lips you can use medium shades. It should not be too glossy or dull. Bronze, raisin red or light brown shades of lip stick will suite you the best.

7. Peech colored blushes will look good on your dark skin. Please do not use pink blushes.

                       Since dark skin has the tendency to reject make up avoid oil based make up. Water based ones are the best. These foundations should be closest to your skin color.
