Varieties of Oranges
Orange! Hearing the name itself, watering gets started in everyone mouths. It is one among the sweetest and tangy fruit. They do not have the restrictions of seasons on them as they will be cultivated all over the world in all times. They generally come in various impressing colors. Many chocolate manufacturers started producing chocolates in various orange flavors. This fruit contains vitamin C and is preferred by doctors. People suffering from water loss, dehydration and various other diseases prefer this food. This preference did not start in recent generations and is in practice from very olden days.
History and about tree:

Orange is a word derived from Sanskrit. In Sanskrit it is called as narangah and that means a mango tree. The first tree in the world was cultivated in Los Angeles during 1841. These trees are generally cultivated in warm locations and are being cultivated worldwide. This tree consists of dark leaves and looks like a small flowering tree. The varieties of oranges cultivated all over the world counts to nearly 600.

Valencia:

This variety was first cultivated by an agronomist from California and the name of a Spanish city called Valencia was referred here. This fruits will be very sweet, pulpy, and juicy and the color of the fruit is gold. This variety comes into market in different sizes varying from small to large. During summer season, this fruit will get green shades.

Navel:

Found in Brazil during 1820 this variety became famous all over the world. As the base of the fruit looks like human navel it was given the name Navel orange. Flesh of this variety is very sweet and juicy. One of the varieties of Navel orange is Cara Cara orange. Florida, California and riverside are the famous places where this fruit is being cultivated.

Blood:

This variety comes in several sub varieties called as Sanguinello, Moro and Tarocco. Among these, Tarocco is considered to be the best one regarding quality and sweetness. Moro is commonly found in US and possesses a raspberry taste. Sanguinello does not contain seeds and will be in deep red color.

Jaffa:

Jaffa oranges are specially grown in Jaffa located in Israel and is named the city name. Being in oval shape they produce strong fragrance.

Hamlin:

This variety is generally available in Florida and large a disease. The shapes generally vary from round to oval shapes.
